Snow showers are likely to impact I-25 heading to work on Monday

The forecast for tonight:
A cold front moved through this afternoon, giving us windy conditions throughout the day. Snow will begin to fall in higher terrain after midnight this evening. Snow showers will occur on I-25 through mid-morning, which could impact your morning commute.

Colorado Springs Forecast: Low: 25; High: 35;
Overnight lows will fall back into the mid 20s. Snow showers are expected around mid-morning. Therefore, plan a little more time for the journey to work or school. There will be less snow as the afternoon progresses, but there will likely still be some slippery spots on the roads.

Pueblo Forecast: Low: 25; High: 39;
Pueblo starts with a calm night and temperatures drop to as low as 20°C. It will start snowing a little later as the snow showers move from north to south. Highs will reach into the upper 30s, but we could still see some slippery spots on the roads on the drive home from work.

Canon City forecast: Low: 26; High: 39;
Canon City will get into the mid 20s tonight, but overall we’ll start off calm. We’ll start with some storms around 10 a.m. but will become more severe in the afternoon.

Woodland Park Forecast: Low: 17; High: 28;
Woodland Park will be going into the teen division tonight. Snow levels for Teller County are still uncertain with some models showing lower snow amounts. Current estimates are between 2 and 5 inches, but that could change. Highs will not rise above freezing tomorrow.

Tri Lakes Forecast: Low: 21; High: 30;
The Tri-Lakes area will push into the lower 20s this evening with high temperatures not rising above freezing. Light snow showers will begin in the afternoon.

Plains forecast: Low: 20s; High: 40s;
Levels will drop to 20°C this evening. Further east we will likely only see cold rain because temperatures will be too warm. La Junta could still see some snow on the ground around a trail.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: Low: 25/27; High: 36/39;
Walsenburg and Trinidad will push into the mid to upper 20s tonight. Snow will have the greatest impact on the southern portion of I-25. There will be heavier snow in the afternoon, but snow is expected to become heavier Monday evening. A winter weather advisory is in effect for Huerfano County and the western half of Las Animas County until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Mountain Forecast: Low: young people; High: 30s;
Snow showers will occur in the mountains in the afternoon. The Sangre De Cristos and Wet Mountains will see the greatest impact and mountain passes will want to be avoided tomorrow.

Advanced Forecast Forecast:
Snow showers will end Tuesday morning and we will be left with clear conditions. Temperatures will gradually warm up throughout the week, but Tuesday will continue to be cold. In some areas, nighttime temperatures will drop into the teens. 40s/50s expected mid to late this week.
