Steph Curry’s insane buzzer-beater in Warriors-Timberwolves goes viral

The Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves met on Sunday night in a rematch of Friday’s contest, which saw the Timberwolves claim a 107-90 victory over Golden State. The Warriors were still at home and knew they had to hold their ground and not lose back-to-back games.

With Andrew Wiggins out due to a right ankle injury, the Warriors decided to make a lineup change and started the game with Stephen Curry, Gary Payton II, Buddy Hield, Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green. With both teams tied 90-90 at the end of the third quarter, the Warriors put the ball in the hands of their best player and let him do what he does best. Cook.

From 38 feet away and with two defenders in front of him, one of whom was a four-time Defensive Player of the Year in Rudy Gobert, Curry drained a three-pointer to not only give his team the lead in the fourth quarter, but also some much needed momentum.

Curry’s shot went viral on social media and was shared by several major media outlets.

Via NBA: “Double team. Fall away. From near midfield. Steph still shoots the three-pointers to take the lead.”

The shot put brought Curry’s point total on the night to 28, which is above his current regular season average of 22.6 points per game (his lowest since 2019-20, when he played just five games).
