Presenter Nikki Glaser, winner Ted Danson nominated

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser may not have to be at the podium just for her hosting duties, as she’s on the list of nominees for the 2025 Golden Globes.

The comedian is aiming for best television stand-up comedy performance for her HBO special One day you will die. She will compete against other comedy heavyweights such as Jamie Foxx, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Ali Wong and Ramy Youssef.

Glaser celebrated the news by sharing the list of nominees in her category on her Instagram Story, writing, “Hell yeah.”

In conversation with The Hollywood Reporter Last week, Glaser expressed how confident she was about tackling hosting the awards show. “I know what I have to do to make it great,” she said. “I know how much work goes into it. I take the task very seriously. I think I can strike the right tone by making fun of Hollywood while also being completely submissive and asking, ‘I want you to like me, but what are we doing here?'”

Glaser added: “I just feel like my 21-year career has prepared me for this. I have made difficult spaces. I can do this and I just feel really ready.”

In addition to the presenter’s nomination, the list of nominees also includes Ted Danson, who will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award for his outstanding contributions to television. The TV icon is competing in the Best Actor in a Television Comedy or Musical category for his role in the new critically acclaimed Netflix series A man inside. He faces other big names in the category: Adam Brody, Steve Martin, Jason Segel, Martin Short and Jeremy Allen White.

“Ted Danson has entertained audiences for decades with his iconic performances that will forever be etched in television history,” Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, previously said in a statement. “His illustrious career is a testament to his remarkable talent and versatility as an actor and bears similarities to the award’s legendary namesake. It is an honor to present him with the 2025 Carol Burnett Award to recognize the tremendous impact he has made and will continue to make on television.”

The Golden Globes will air on Sunday, January 5, 2025 on CBS.
