Josh Allen: We need to get to it urgently, we didn’t do that at any stage against the Rams

The Bills’ comeback narrowly failed against the Rams on Sunday afternoon, with the club losing to Los Angeles 44:42.

Quarterback Josh Allen’s statistics would tell you that he wasn’t the problem, as he became the first player to ever finish a regular season game with three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns. He was 22 of 37 passing for 342 yards and led the team with 82 rushing yards on 10 carries.

But Buffalo trailed 24-14 at halftime and trailed 38-21 at the end of the third quarter, putting the team in a hole it ultimately couldn’t get out of.

“We have to come out with something urgent,” Allen said in his postgame press conference. “I don’t think we were able to do that in any phase of the game today.”

With Sunday’s full results, the Bills have lost ground to the Chiefs in the race for the AFC’s No. 1 seed and will face another difficult task on the road next week when they take on the Lions in Detroit.

“They’re the top dog in football right now,” Allen said of the Lions. “They play extremely well. We have to have a good week, learn from it and put it behind us.

“That was a good team we just played with a really good quarterback. They played with urgency. At this point in the season they are playing like they should be in the playoffs right now. You saw and felt that with them.”

With the Lions fighting for the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the conference, there will certainly be a playoff atmosphere next Sunday in Detroit.
