Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour came to an end Sunday night, capping nearly two years of glittery outfits, friendship bracelets and record-breaking sales.

The tour, an autobiographical journey through Swift’s extensive discography, began in Arizona in March 2023. Over the next 630-plus days, Swift performed 149 shows – each lasting more than three hours – in over 50 cities on five continents.

The show’s 10 acts cover the different eras of Swift’s career, each defined by their own color scheme, costume and set design, as well as two ever-changing “surprise songs” during the acoustic portion of the night.

A steady stream of surprises, setlist changes and special guests captivated fans’ attention throughout the tour, with many tuning in to live streams and following dedicated fan accounts on social media.

And of course people watched in person.

Much has been written about “Swiftonomics,” or how the tour boosted local economies in the U.S. and around the world. Fans traveled hundreds or even thousands of miles, sometimes for more than one show, spending money on lodging, food, and costumes along the way.

Your enthusiasm made history.

Swift also released a $40 coffee-table book of images and reflections from the tour in late November, which sold nearly a million copies in its first week.

On her final night on stage in Vancouver on Sunday, Swift described the tour as “the most exciting chapter of my life so far” and praised her fans for it. The Swifties introduced their own special Eras Tour traditions, such as exchanging homemade friendship bracelets in the crowd and singing and clapping at certain signs with archer precision.

“Making friends and bringing joy to each other is what I think is the lasting legacy of this tour, the fact that you created such a space of joy, togetherness and love. “You are the reason this is so special,” Swift said. “And the fact that you have supported me for so long is the reason I can take these lovely walks down memory lane every night, because you care about every era of my entire life in which I have made music, so thank you very much .”
