Twitch bans Dan Saltman indefinitely for “extreme harassment,” streamer accuses anti-Semitism

Twitch has suspended Dan Saltman indefinitely, citing “extreme harassment” as a violation. Saltman is known for co-hosting the podcast “Anything Else” with streamer Steven “Destiny” and announced the ban on X.com (formerly Twitter). “This ‘extreme harassment’ ban is based entirely on my crusade for those who have been discriminated against by the biased and racist T&S team,” he posted. Saltman further claimed that the ban was in response to his lobbying efforts, including calls to Congress and advertisers, opposing Twitch’s policies.

Saltman, who does not actively stream on Twitch, is a vocal critic of the platform and its CEO Dan Clancy. He accused the platform of harboring anti-Semitic content, adding: “Not even Jews wanted this ban introduced.” Ridiculously inexperienced team at @twitch. @djclancy999 must resign.”

Recent changes in Twitch’s content policies may have influenced the ban. Twitch recently made using “Zionist” an insult a banable offense. Saltman responded with criticism, claiming: “A very stupid decision, made primarily because the leadership team is completely incompetent in every way.”

Saltman’s promotion of the parody website danclancysucks.com, which he says exposes Twitch’s alleged bias, may have contributed to the ban. This controversy has reignited debates about Twitch’s moderation practices and the impact of its policies on the platform’s broader community.
