Bradley and Avelo offer new flights amid busy travel season

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WFSB) – Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks and Avelo Airlines in New Haven plan to introduce new flights amid a very busy travel season.

The Connecticut Airport Authority announced that Avelo Airlines will begin year-round, nonstop service to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on February 21, 2025.

This is the airport’s third non-stop connection to the Caribbean.

Service to Punta Cana is offered twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

This comes after Avelo launched its first international flights from Bradley to Montego Bay (Jamaica) and Cancun (Mexico) in November.

“We are pleased to have Avelo add another international destination from Bradley International Airport,” said Kevin Dillon, executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority. “We look forward to launching new service to Punta Cana, building on our commitment to providing travelers with greater convenience to popular non-stop destinations.”

In addition to its international destinations, Avelo currently flies domestically from Bradley to Charlotte/Concord, NC, Daytona Beach, FL, Houston, TX, Orlando/Lakeland, FL and Wilmington, NC, according to CAA.

Avelo also announced it is adding nonstop flights to Jacksonville, Florida, Dallas, Texas, Detroit, Michigan and Portland, ME.
