The New England Patriots are ready to “offer the moon” to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins ahead of his free agency.

“The Patriots will be all-in on Tee Higgins,” Chad Graff said The athlete said. “They have shown interest in established receivers, and Higgins is the top free agent. I expect them to offer him the moon. The question is whether he says yes or no.”

Despite only playing in seven games this season due to various injuries, Higgins has rushed for 558 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 79.7 yards per game.

The Patriots desperately need improvements in their receiving game. They rank last in the league with an average of just 171.5 yards per game and are second to last in yards per game with just 13.

New England’s leading receiver is tight end Hunter Henry, who has 610 yards this season. Second-string tight end Austin Hooper leads the team with three touchdowns. Their leading receiver DeMario Douglas has rushed for 497 yards with one touchdown this season, ranking 61st in the league in total yards.

Given the expected free agent interest for Higgins, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him leave given his history with the Bengals. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he requested a transfer from Cincinnati before the start of the season, frustrated by the lack of discussions about a long-term contract extension.

With all the hubbub and rumors surrounding Higgins’ future, Bengals wide receivers coach Troy Walters went straight to the source to find out directly from him.

“He’s on a mission,” Walters said, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby. “It’s a big year for him, but he’s not letting that pressure and everything else get him down. He seems to be having fun. He plays with a lot of calmness.”

With Higgins’ future in Cincinnati uncertain, the 4-8 Bengals are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the second straight year and are currently in third place in the AFC North Division.
