Night 1 of “The Voice” finale ends with Snoop Dogg in tears

The voice The final performance show was a toast to Season 26, so it was fitting that Snoop Dogg’s girlfriend Martha Stewart was on hand and offered the coaches cups of her boozy eggnog.

Snoop and his fellow coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani watched with pride as their last remaining artists (Bublé has two; the others have one each) took the mic for an uptempo song and a ballad.

And Snoop was emotional, as he has been all season, as fellow finalist Jeremy Beloate sang Jackie DeShannon’s “What the World Needs Now.” Tears streamed down his face.

Before his performance, Beloate joked on camera that he was “like the new Martha Stewart if she sang” because, he said, he and the rapper were an “odd” couple.

“Music isn’t always about how it sounds. It’s about how it makes you feel,” Snoop said.

Bublé told the contestant that he and Snoop would be attending his first night on Broadway.

His second choice, Calum Scott’s “Dancing On My Own,” left Stefani speechless.

“It’s hard to say anything after this,” the No Doubt singer said. She added that “what you do is so powerful. It’s so perfect.”

And yet America is faced with a difficult decision, because the other singers – Team Bublé’s Shye and Sofronio Vasquez, Team Reba’s Danny Joseph and Team Gwen’s Sydney Sterlace – were all impressive.

Some of the outstanding achievements:

Shye’s rendition of Harry Styles’ “Falling” prompted Snoop to unofficially offer the Team Bublé member a record deal: “You’re so exceptional at singing,” he said. “I look forward to seeing you guys make a real record in 2025, hopefully with my label.”

Joseph played Luke Combs’ “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” which prompted Coach Gwen to quip, “That’s how you do the finals!”

When Stefani’s contestant Sterlace sang Gracie Abrams’ “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” it was Snoop who gave the 16-year-old the biggest compliment: “Syd, the boy, you grew up tonight!”

Last but not least, Vasquez sang “Unstoppable” by Sia, which prompted McEntire to declare him an “unstoppable” artist.

Bublé was even more effusive, calling him a superhero.

“What the hell?” he said. “I have to suck lemons so I can stop smiling.”
