Ryan Reynolds says he won’t see Deadpool in another standalone film in the future.

“I don’t know what the future of Deadpool will look like, but I know that Sean and I made the movie so that it has a beginning, a middle and an end and is a complete experience and not just a commercial for one others. I think that’s true.” “It’s kind of important to make room for a movie to just be a movie,” Reynolds told his Marvel co-star Andrew Garfield during Variety’s “Actors on Actors.”

Deadpool and Wolverine introduced the Merc with the Mouth to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and grossed over $1 billion at the global box office. The first two Deadpool films were produced by Fox, with the first being made before Disney acquired the Fox Marvel titles. The film also brought Hugh Jackman out of his Wolverine retirement after he was killed off in James Mangold’s Logan. Deadpool and Wolverine cleverly and hilariously begins with Deadpool visiting Logan’s grave – but still pays homage to the heartbreaking vision of Wolverine that Mangold created.

“The thing is, I see Deadpool being much more of a supporting character than he is a main character because they want what they want, but you can’t do that unless you take everything away. You have to create a situation where he’s so much the underdog. “I don’t think I can do that again, so I think when he comes back it will be in another movie – Channing Tatum – I’m like that excited to play Gambit and I would be happy to be the fifth banana in his movie or anyone else.
