Will Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 be renewed or canceled by Paramount+?

As of now, the third season of Paramount Plus’s Special Ops: Lioness has not been announced yet.

However, fans are still optimistic about a third part. In an interview with Vanity Fair, lead actress Zoe Saldaña, who plays Joe, subtly hinted at the third season and praised the series.

She explained: “I wish it was the fact that I had space in my life (laughs). “I signed up for at least three seasons, so you have to fulfill some kind of contractual obligation, but Lioness is not just that. Lioness has been a journey that has given me the opportunity to work with a different kind of filmmaker.”

Saldana mentioned three seasons in her interview, which raised hopes among fans. In addition, series are usually offered with a three-season contract depending on viewership. Additionally, the actors want to have a three-season contract for each show they appear in.

On the other hand, the positive reception of Lioness in terms of critical appreciation and ratings strongly suggests a third part. The film currently has an IMDB rating of 7.7 out of 10 and a 72% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Given the release date patterns of the first two seasons, Lioness season 3 could release sometime in late 2025 or early 2026. However, it is up to the creators to decide the future of the successful series.
