Michael Malone provides an injury update on the star player

After what felt like a pretty nightmarish start to the season for the Denver Nuggets, the situation has calmed down significantly. Injuries were piling up, the young players were struggling and the bench overall was looking terrible.

But thanks in large part to the constant presence of Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets have righted the ship and things don’t look so bad anymore. Christian Braun, Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther all seem to be doing well, Russell Westbrook has been able to make a positive impact and Michael Porter Jr. seems to be making the jump we all hoped for.

If anything, the game between the two complementary stars was the last thing that happened for the team. Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Murray’s problems have long been reported. It was quite a trying season due to his ongoing health concerns and overall poor playing and shooting performance.

It seems like he’s getting into form and has had some solid games lately, but he still seems far from the best version of Jamal Murray. As for Gordon, the problem wasn’t necessarily his play, but his health.

Gordon played well (for the most part) in the team’s first seven games of the season, but left early in the game with the Raptors on November 4 and did not return. Gordon was diagnosed with a calf injury and was ruled out indefinitely, to be re-evaluated in a few weeks.

On Monday night we finally got an update ahead of the Nuggets’ game against the Knicks. Michael Malone told the media that there is “no timetable” for Gordon’s return from his calf strain.

That’s obviously not what fans want to hear at all since he’s already been sidelined for almost a month. The Nuggets have already lost depth, especially in the frontcourt, and Gordon’s absence doesn’t help. Fans would love to see Mr. Nugget back out there.

But then again, the long-term health of the team comes first and there’s no reason to rush Gordon. Hopefully his recovery goes well and the team is just being extremely cautious. to make sure he comes back 100%.

Furthermore, they can survive without Gordon in the meantime. It would be crazy and unwise to bring him back for regular season games, even as the losses pile up. Additionally, giving Watson this expanded opportunity as a starting forward is great.

While Gordon is out, the boys need to continue to improve, but perhaps this will give them the reps and confidence they need. For the sake of the half-full Nuggets fans, let’s hope the whole situation turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
