What is Colorado Gives Day? Here’s how to donate to Colorado nonprofits on Big Giving Day

Tuesday is considered one of the biggest charity days of the year in Colorado.

Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 10th. The nonprofit calls it the “largest 24-hour fundraising movement in the state” and one of the most successful charitable giving days in the country.

Colorado Gives is a community foundation and nonprofit organization that facilitates year-round donations to hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the state. Each December, the foundation hosts Colorado Gives Day to promote fundraising for nonprofits across the state.

In 2023, Colorado Gives Day raised more than $54 million for Colorado nonprofits. According to the foundation’s website, people have donated more than $469 million since Colorado Gives Day began in 2010.

The Colorado Gives Foundation facilitates donations to hundreds of nonprofit organizations across Colorado. For a complete list of nonprofits you can donate to through Colorado Gives, visit the Colorado Gives website.

For those who sign up for monthly recurring donations on Colorado Gives Day, the Colorado Gives Foundation will match their first month’s donation up to $100. Donors must sign up by Tuesday evening or before the $250,000 in additional funding is exhausted.

Colorado Gives Day donors will also be eligible to win prizes in hourly drawings throughout the day on Tuesday, including a round-trip ticket on Southwest Airlines.
