We begin at Lake Worth Beach, where two people died and two others were injured in a shooting overnight. CALEB CALIFANO IS HERE TO GIVE US THE LATEST ON THE INVESTIGATION. AND WHAT COLLEAGUES SAY ABOUT THE VICTIMS. CALEB. Well, for most of the morning, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office focused its investigation on the Rock Irish Pub where the shooting occurred at one o’clock this morning. The sheriff’s office tells us two men are dead and two others are in the hospital, one in critical condition while the other is stable. ALL FOUR MEN WORKED AT THE OLD KEY LIME HOUSE IN LANTANA, A FEW MILES AWAY. THE OWNER TELLS US THEY HAD THEIR CHRISTMAS PARTY WHEN THEY MOVED TO THE ROCK IRISH PUB. What was supposed to be a fun evening has now left a kitchen manager, a chef, a waiter and a barback either dead or injured. THEY WERE. THEY WERE FAMILY MEMBERS. This place is also more than a restaurant. IT’S MORE THAN A BUSINESS. IT’S A COMMUNITY. IT’S A FAMILY. THEY’VE ALL BEEN HERE FOR MANY YEARS, ABOUT 20, ABOUT FIVE. We were all just outside celebrating Christmas together and enjoying it. AND THEN THIS HAPPENED. JACKIE SLATTERY ALSO WORKS AT THE OLD KEY LIME HOUSE AND WAS AT THE CHRISTMAS PARTY. She tells us that she left the pub for a second and when she came back she saw a large police presence and several dead or wounded people, including her boss, who is still in critical condition. She tells us the shooting stemmed from an argument that got out of control. IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. These are good people. We were just out here having a good time. NONE OF THIS WAS NECESSARY. It’s completely unnecessary. I mean, we’re all out here just trying to have a good time, love each other, you know, and make the holidays a special time. There is no word on any suspects at this time. BUT THE PALM BEACH COUNTY3 SHERIFF’S OFFICE URGES ANYONE WITH INFORMATION to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458 TIPS. CURRENTLY. We’re in LA
