A winner would take home the 10th largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

NEW YORK – The numbers for a $619 million Mega Millions jackpot were drawn Tuesday after a three-month winning streak at the lottery. If there is a winner, it would be the 10th largest jackpot in the history of the lottery game.

The last time anyone took home a Mega Millions jackpot was the September 10th drawing. A winner in Texas matched all six numbers and won the $810 million jackpot.

Only three Mega Millions jackpots have been won so far this year, including a $1.1 billion winning ticket purchased in New Jersey in March. This prize is still unclaimed. Winners in New Jersey have one year to claim their winnings. The highest Mega Millions jackpot ticket – $1.6 billion – was sold in Florida in August last year.

The chance of winning the jackpot is one in more than 302 million. The overall odds of winning a Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24.

Playing will soon be more expensive: Lottery officials announced that starting April 2025, playing Mega Millions will cost $5, up from the current $2 per ticket. The prize increase will be one of many changes to Mega Millions that officials say will result in improved jackpot odds, more frequent giant prizes and even bigger payouts.

The winning numbers from Friday’s drawing were 12-14-26-48-52 Mega Ball: 21 Megaplier: 5.

If a winner matches all five numbers and the Mega Ball, they have the option of receiving the entire jackpot as a pension over 30 years or a smaller lump sum payout in cash. Winners almost always choose the cash option.

Players who match only the first five numbers win at least $1 million.
