Kelsea Ballerini FaceTimes dog, dibs, during the London show

Kelsea Ballerini’s dog Dibs has become as much of a celebrity as his superstar owner. When fans were invited to a special call with the artist’s pup at London’s Roundhouse on Saturday night (December 7), it felt like two titans were on stage at the same time.

During her one-off appearance across the pond, Ballerini pulled out her cell phone to call the special guest, FaceTiming her mother in the middle of the show.

“Show us this boy,” she said as she answered, causing dibs to appear on the phone’s screen.

“Wow, look at this handsome, strong boy,” she said to applause from fans, adding: “Dibby, all these people wish you well, mate.”

Last summer, the artist announced that Dibs had been diagnosed with “inoperable cancer in his heart.”

Since then, songs like “Penthouse” – particularly the line: “I bought the house with a fence / Enough room for a few kids, a backyard for dibs” – were difficult for the artist to perform, which was evident during her recent performance at Madison Square Garden.

The audience supported the star as she sang the rest of the verse and part of the “Penthouse” hook as she held back tears.

Her London audience this past weekend seemed equally phenomenal, supporting the star and her good boy dibs.

“We enjoyed every split second of our time together, London,” she shared on social media following the appearance. “Thank you for braving the storms and showing up so loud and nice. See you soon.”
