Tonight

We don’t expect any precipitation this evening, and we don’t expect any fog like this morning. But we’re expecting a changeable weather day tomorrow with snow showers and possibly a few snow squalls.

It will be much colder tonight with lows falling into the 20s. Children must be dressed much warmer for the bus stop on Wednesday morning.

When can we expect snow and possible impacts on Wednesday?

Thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in the morning, but we expect the hours between midday and 11pm to produce isolated to numerous thunderstorms/snow showers, with the greatest concentration and intensity of snow bursts more likely to occur between the 2pm and 9pm window .

During this time, you should be prepared for rapidly changing weather and road conditions. Because of these expected bursts of snow, the road surface could go from dry to possibly snow-covered in a short period of time.

Wednesday lunchtime – Thursday midnight

This rapid-cutting system will result in isolated bursts of snow, primarily after midday into the evening, with the largest impacts due to slick road conditions and poor visibility during the Wednesday evening commute. Minor accumulation is expected outside of a coating on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

How long will this Arctic snapshot last?

Luckily, if you’re not a fan of the cold, the cold snap will be short-lived and will end on Friday when temperatures rise back up to around 40 degrees. We’ll be above average again over the weekend, with highs in the 40s, but that also brings the next opportunity for widespread rain on Saturday.
