Police Tie Assault Cases, New Body Camera of Bissonnette Attack Released

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ – New body camera video shows the moments police hear former Arizona Coyote forward Paul Bissonnette describing what happened the night of November 24th.

“I was in Houston, eating in a huge seat, and there was loud screaming,” Bissonnette told Scottsdale police officers.

He said there were two managers at the bar looking after “about 10 people.”

“The one manager walked a gentleman in a red golf shirt out the door who basically screamed in his face,” Bissonnette said.

The former NHL hockey player said he stood up and went to the group to try to defend the stick.

“I tell guys, ‘If you continue to harass and attack these guys, I’ll meet you in the parking lot,'” Bissonnette said. “And as soon as I said that, they all started swinging.”

On Tuesday, ABC15 was monitoring in and around Houston in Scottsdale.

“I fell,” Bissonnette said. “They kicked and hit me. One kicked me in the throat. One kicked me in the side of the head.”

The officers asked if he wanted to press charges, and Bissonnette said yes.

“It’s on camera,” an officer said to the arrested suspects. “The camera doesn’t lie.”

Hours of body camera video show police interviewing some of the six men who were ultimately arrested that night. Some denied involvement and shared a very different account. Officers told the group they had video of the incident.

Officers appear to arrest 29-year-old Sean Daley outside a hotel.

“I showed on video you kicking someone multiple times and then chasing them across the parking lot to the CVS,” the officer told Daley in the video.

Daley refused to report what happened, saying only that he wanted to go home.

During a conversation with officers, the group told police about their trip to the valley. At one point, an officer asked which golf courses they were playing.

“Raven today,” said some of the men.

At the Raven Golf Club in Phoenix, an employee named Carter said he was attacked that same November day.

“They released the mugshots and I said, Oh my God, that’s them,” Carter said in a recent interview with ABC15. “There’s no doubt in my mind right away.”

But for the first time Tuesday, Phoenix police linked at least one of the suspects in the Scottsdale case to Carter’s attack. A spokesperson told ABC15 that misdemeanor charges have been filed in City Court, but the suspect’s name could not be released.

On Tuesday, the Maricopa County District Attorney’s Office also announced that Daley had been charged as an attorney represented the 29-year-old at his arraignment.

“I will ask the court to enter a not guilty plea on his behalf,” his lawyer said.

According to MCAO, the cases of three other Scottsdale shooting suspects were originally referred to the Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office, but they have since been dismissed. That way, they could be filed as charges for crimes that are currently under review, according to ABC15.
