European football’s most successful club, Real Madrid, can add another title to its glittering trophy cabinet when it plays in the final of the new FIFA Intercontinental Cup in Qatar.

As reigning UEFA Champions League champions, the Spanish club have qualified directly for the tournament final on December 18, marking the second anniversary of Qatar hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In two games before the final – on December 11th and 14th – the continental champions will compete against each other, with the winner then facing the Galaticos.
