Former Canadiens goaltender provides highlights

In most cases, getting on the highlights list is good news, but that wasn’t the case for former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Charlie Lindgren. The goaltender hasn’t had a bad season so far, he had a 5-5-0 record with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage before last night’s game, but he will want to forget last night’s game.

In a game where there was no shortage of goals and the score was 3-3, the Washington Capitals goalkeeper gave the Tampa Bay Lightning the lead. He came out of his crease to pass the puck in front of the net, there was no pressure on him and somehow he managed to confidently hit it backhand into his own net.

Luckily for Lindgren, his team had his back and the Capitals were able to come back and not only tie the game, but also take a 5-4 lead with less than four minutes left. The Caps held on for dear life as the Bolts pulled their goalie, and Lindgren earned his sixth win of the year.

Chances are good that his teammates will continue to insult him for quite some time, especially since no harm was done in the end. The joy of being part of a team…
