US President-Elect Trump Named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year: Report | World News

After US President-elect Donald Trump won the White House race again in November, Time magazine is reportedly poised to name the Republican its 2024 Person of the Year.

To celebrate the event and unveil the magazine’s cover, Trump will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday morning, according to reports CNN Citing sources.

In 2023, pop star Taylor Swift was named Person of the Year and Time CEO Jessica Sibley rang the opening bell of the stock market.

Trump was named Person of the Year in 2016 when he won the US presidential election for the first time, defeating Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. In the event of a final vote, Trump would receive recognition twice, this time for the remarkable resurgence that won overwhelmingly.

Time Magazine has already named Female Athlete of the Year as NBA star Caitlin Clark, Icon of the Year as Elton John and CEO of the Year as Lisa Su of Advanced Micro Devices.

According to Time magazine’s website, the shortlist for 2024 Person of the Year includes Kamala Harris, Kate Middleton, Elon Musk, Benjamin Netanyahu, Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerberg, Yulia Navalnaya, Jerome Powell, Joe Rogan and Claudia Sheinbaum.
