WE’RE JUST SEEING ANOTHER RUSH OF PEOPLE HERE RIGHT NOW getting these last minute grocery items that are actually cheaper than last year. The pre-holiday grocery rush is in full swing on Wednesday, and shoppers like Derek Graham are getting a few of those last-minute items. Charcoal, the grill, my hand, and some turkey bags for the turkey, and Graham wasn’t the only hesitant buyer. WE FOUND BOTH. CABBAGE. I came for the sweet potatoes last night but they were all gone on the bright side, shoppers should have a little breather in their wallets. ACCORDING TO THE AMERICAN FARM BUREAU, THE AVERAGE COST OF THIS YEAR’S DINNER FOR TEN PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABOUT $58. That’s a 5% decline from 2023 and still 19% higher than five years ago. This is mainly due to a decrease in the price of Turkey, which was around $25. THIS YEAR. DO YOU FEEL THAT FOOD PRICES ARE REALLY DIFFERENT THIS YEAR? YES. NO, YOU’RE UP A LITTLE.
