The importance of the Rams’ unselfish WR core

Wide receiver Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua could be the best receiving duo in the National Football League. The impact of Kupp and Nacua on the Los Angeles Rams offense is huge when it comes to team chemistry. Two of the best at their position, but want the entire team to be recognized.

In the NFL you see quarterbacks and wide receivers getting frustrated with each other when they don’t get the ball. You can also see it when two star wide receivers team up and it doesn’t work out for selfish reasons. That’s not the case with the Rams’ top two receivers.

Both Kupp and Nacua have said in the past that they love seeing everyone get involved. They know that they have other weapons on offense and can also make plays.

“That’s why my appreciation for Cooper has grown even greater,” Rams play-by-play announcer JB Long said on “The Coach McVay Show.” “He had that Triple Crown season and you look at the role that he fills in this offense right now. Even to get a kick out block on the receiver screen. Like we know how receivers are wired and how they need to be wired.” How many of them can be willing and competent from the Super Bowl MVP?

“It’s not an easy transition, but ultimately is it right for the collective? “Usually the Warriors will do what’s right for the collective,” Rams general manager Les Snead said. “In a kind of sacrifice. And that is team sport. The best teams will be made up of individuals who make some sacrifice for the ecosystem… Well, there’s an element to that, right? You can see the mentality.”

Kupp and Puka really value the rest of the wide receiver core. With Kupp and Puka out early in the season, the rest of the core stepped up and played a big role in helping the Rams get into the playoffs with four games to go.
