A cold front will briefly bring lively temperatures back to the Bay Area

After a sunny and warm Tuesday, temperatures are on the verge of plummeting as a series of storms usher in a cold front.

FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber says rain will likely begin late morning into early afternoon on Wednesday.

He said winds are getting stronger and there is a chance of a thunderstorm or two as the cold front arrives.

As the storms subside, temperatures begin to drop.

A cold front will drop temperatures across the Bay Area to 30 to 40 degrees Thursday morning.

By Thursday morning, most of the Bay Area will see temperatures in the upper 40s, while northern areas will see temperatures dip into the upper 30s.

Weber says temperatures will only climb into the 60s on Thursday, but will warm up quickly.

After a mid-week plunge, temperatures will quickly rise to the high 70s.

By Saturday, Weber said, the maximum temperature will be 78 degrees, three degrees above average.
