The hidden meaning behind Selena Gomez’s huge diamond engagement ring from Benny Blanco

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are officially engaged.

Yesterday (December 11), the 36-year-old music producer proposed to the 32-year-old Rare Beauty founder with a Taco Bell picnic and a special engagement ring.

For his now fiancée, Blanco chose a marquise diamond ring with a gold ring set with small diamonds. The choice of a marquise-shaped stone is likely a nod to Gomez’s 2015 hit “Good For You,” in which she brags about being “into her marquise diamonds.”

The text reads: “I’m on my marquise diamonds. I am a marquise diamond. Might even make this Tiffany jealous.”

The former Disney Channel star shared a series of sweet pictures from Blanco’s proposal on Instagram, writing, “Eternity begins now.”

A close-up of the ring on her finger is shown before a picture of her sitting on a picnic blanket next to Taco Bell containers. The picnic area appears to be indoors, with artificial grass and greenery at the back.

Blanco and Gomez made their relationship public in December 2023. The “Who Says” singer simultaneously gave her new beau a soft start with a blurry Instagram Story about them together and liked a PopFactions post that read, “#SelenaGomez is rumored to be dating music producer #BennyBlanco.” .”

The happy couple then attended a Los Angeles Lakers game and made themselves comfortable on the sidelines.

In April, the musician spoke about his romantic connection with the Emilia Perez Lead during an interview WSJ Magazine.

Speaking to the magazine, Blanco joked that he was “the last person who knew” that he was in love with Gomez.

“It’s crazy how your partner can be sitting right in front of you all the time and you don’t even notice, and then you have this Clueless moment where you think, ‘Wait, I’m in love,'” he said.

Gomez then gushed about her partner in September Vanity Fair Cover story. She emphasized her continued commitment to preserving their love and making them feel safe with each other.

“We are always careful to protect what we have, but there are no rules,” she explained. “I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.

“I’ve never been loved like this before,” Gomez continued. “He was just a light. A perfect light in my life. He is my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

While both have expressed interest in raising children one day, the “Wolves” singer said she is unable to carry her own children due to medical complications.

She told Vanity Fair: “I’ve never said this before, but unfortunately I can’t carry my own children. I have many medical issues that would endanger my life and that of the baby. That was something I had to mourn for a while.”

Still, Gomez is open to exploring other options, including surrogacy and adoption.
