Massive holiday shipping operations are underway in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The holiday season is in full swing and shipping facilities across the country are working to ensure packages reach their destination in time for Christmas.

At a USPS facility in Orange County, the mood is described as exciting as workers process nearly double the usual volume of packages.

One machine alone can handle 10,000 packages per hour.

“The team is just so committed. They come in and understand what the game plan is. We’re messing around with them a little bit,” said Lisa Lake, Seminole plant manager.

With the increase in holiday deliveries, employees are urging customers to meet deadlines. Key dates include December 18th for ground and first class mail, December 19th for Priority Mail, and December 21st for Priority Mail Express.

“We have a lot of packages. We get them in and out. We have a great team working at this facility,” Lake said. “It’s usually double the amount of packages that come through and they come in different sizes and shapes.”
