Kristen Doute reacts to James Kennedy’s domestic violence arrest

Kristen Doute takes care of her ex-boyfriend James Kennedy was arrested for domestic violence.

Doute, 41, who is currently pregnant with her and her fiancé Luke Broderick‘s Baby, took to Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 12, to share an article about Kennedy’s legal troubles and wrote, “Finally.”

Us Weekly confirmed that police were dispatched to Kennedy’s home after receiving a call about an argument between a man and a woman on Tuesday, December 10. Authorities saw Kennedy, 32, allegedly grab a woman, but officers who responded to the scene did not see any visible injuries.

Vanderpump Rules Fans are familiar with Doute and Kennedy’s turbulent past. The former couple began dating in 2014 after their split Tom Sandoval. Doute was an original cast member of the hit Bravo series and Kennedy joined her on screen in the third season.

Their on-again, off-again romance has been documented over the years as they shared many explosive moments, including Doute hitting Kennedy at Scheana Shay’s wedding to Mike Shay in 2014. In another season, Kennedy spit on Doute’s door during an argument.

Meanwhile, Kennedy’s ex-fiancée, Rachel “Raquel” Levisshad previously hinted that there was a bigger reason for their split in 2021. Leviss, 29, subsequently claimed that Doutes was casting for the Vanderpump Rules Spin off The valley had to do with Doute’s silence about Kennedy’s alleged abuse.

“Kristen just started talking about her tumultuous relationship with James and what went on behind closed doors. Then all of a sudden she’s presented with this spin-off,” Leviss claimed during her iHeartRadio podcast interview with Bethenny Frankel in August 2023. “I think it’s a way to silence her – to keep this a secret – with that longevity by …” Vanderpump Rules can continue.”

Leviss said she believed Doute’s previous comments about how toxic things were between her and the DJ.

“I saw that he was a violent person, so I have no doubt that what she says is true. I hope one day it will come to light and there will be justice,” she added. “It’s interesting because the actors who were fired and canceled back then are now making a big comeback because this scandal is so brutal that we are the ultimate villains – Tom (Sandoval) and I – and now they have a platform, where they can apologize to themselves.”

A Bravo spokesperson released a statement in response to Leviss’ comments Us weekly At the time, “Kristen Doute was one of the people approached for an upcoming spin-off because she is part of the group of friends appearing on a new show.”

Kennedy has never publicly commented on Doute’s or Leviss’ claims. His girlfriend Ally LewberHowever, he previously denied that Kennedy had “physically injured” or “assaulted” her.
