Morgan Wallen pleads guilty in Nashville chair-throwing case

Morgan Wallen pleaded guilty after throwing a chair from a rooftop bar in Nashville in April.

According to Fox 17, Wallen was charged with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment. Judge Cynthia Chappell sentenced the country star to seven days in a DUI training center and two years of supervised probation.

Wallen’s charge was reduced from felony to misdemeanor at a hearing Tuesday.

“Today (12/12/24), Morgan Wallen appeared in Davidson County Circuit Court with Judge Cynthia Chappell presiding, where he entered a conditional plea, which will not result in conviction, pursuant to Tennessee’s Diversion Statute,” Robinson said in a divided statement Statement with Fox News Digital. “The plea agreement with prosecutors requires Mr. Wallen to spend seven days in a DUI training center, be on probation for two years – one year for each of the misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges – pay a $350 fine and go to court After successfully completing his probation, the charges can be dismissed and expunged.

“Mr Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities over the past eight months, communicating directly with and apologizing to all those involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and his foundation.”

Wallen threw a chair from the sixth floor of the Eric Church-backed Bar Chief’s in Nashville on April 7.

The “Whiskey Glasses” singer “fully cooperated” with the investigation, a representative for the musician told Fox News Digital at the time.

He was originally charged with disorderly conduct – a misdemeanor – and three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

“This is obviously a very complicated case,” Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, told reporters after his initial hearing – even though the country star was not present. “The problem will not be solved without subpoenas and witnesses.”

At the time, Wallen was performing for his “One Night at a Time” tour.

“Morgan is doing well,” Robinson said of the “Last Night” singer amid the legal drama. “He’s very busy, which is good. He’s a family man and I think this concert is very special for him because his family lives close together.”

“I think these are the best times of his life,” he explained. “When his house is full of family and nieces and his son and his sisters. I think it’s a good time right now.”

After the chair-throwing incident, Wallen ended his One Night at a Time tour. The “Wasted on You” singer took the stage for fans in Charlotte, North Carolina for the last time in October.

Now fans are wondering what’s next for the country star and hoping he’ll return to the stage in 2025.

“So what’s going on? I know if you’re watching this video then you spent at least one night on the ‘One Night at a Time’ tour, so I just wanted to personally thank you and give you an opportunity to have something cool at the same time – and to let you know that I’m working,” Wallen said in a video he shared with fans attending his tour.

“I’m taking some time for myself, but I’m also working, and I can’t wait to get back out there and see you all sometime next year. I appreciate that.”
