Dasha cements her new superstar status with an electrifying “Austin” performance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Country music has had a good year for newcomers, and that’s thanks in part to Dasha. Thanks to her album What happens now? Dash caught the attention of pop-country fans around the world. However, what got people actually watching them was the hit single “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).”

Dasha’s single released in 2024 has become a viral sensation. It also received over 10 billion views TikTokthe single reached number 18 on the billboard Hot 100 and gave the singer her first appearance on the charts. Additionally, the single was certified RIAA Platinum in the United States and 17 other countries. Needless to say, there is a reason The New York Times described the tune as “one of the most distinctive country songs of the year.”

Thanks to her success, her appearance in the infamous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was inevitable. While performing on America Productions’ Big City Cheer float, Dasha wowed the audience with her hit song “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).” Dasha performed as if the moment was a rite of passage, cementing her newfound status in pop culture.

Dasha’s thoughts on her newfound fame

Earlier this year, Dasha opened up about her recent fandom and the feelings that come with it iHeart Radio Canada. “It’s been so crazy and just a roller coaster ride” and “For it to happen so quickly and at this pace is honestly just a dream come true,” Dasha shared. Dasha and her team have been producing and releasing music independently since she was 13. However, “they finally broke through the fence and crossed the border,” Dasha added.

Many people seem to believe that Dasha will become an overnight success thanks to her song. However, that’s not the case and it doesn’t offend her when people put that label on her. She said, “Everyone who gets into the music industry has the same comments” and “It comes with the territory.” “You don’t see the ten years of me writing songs and releasing music and just doing my best,” she concluded .

Dasha has come a long way in her 10 years and her appearance in the Macy’s Day Parade is a testament to her dedication, courage and determination for her work. Dasha is expected to embark on her first headlining tour, “Dashville,” next April.
