What’s open is closed this Thanksgiving

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – If you’re wondering what’s open or closed this Thanksgiving, it’s quite a mix this year.

Government businesses such as the post office will remain closed for the holiday. Retail stores such as Walmart, Kohls, Macy’s, Target and Best Buy will close. Some local grocery stores will be open, but it varies.

Hannaford is open until 3 p.m., Whole Foods is open until 1 p.m. Trader Joe’s is closed.

Stewart’s will be open with slightly modified hours depending on location. When you land at Stewart’s, remember that the 38th annual holiday gaming program begins this Thanksgiving.

It will match all donations made at its stores in northern New York state and western Vermont. The campaign runs until Christmas. In 2023, Stewart’s was able to raise more than $2 million to donate to local charities.

As for pharmacies, check with your local branches as CVS has many open but hours may be limited. The only Walgreens locations open are 24 hours a day.

If you’re not sure if a location is open, you can always call and ask what their hours are that day.
