Naughty Dog flies into space with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet – The Game Awards 2024

Naughty Dog has finally unveiled its new PlayStation game, a space adventure called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will be revealed during The Game Awards 2024 with a debut trailer below. It is directed by Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann and features a new original score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. It is Naughty Dog’s first new franchise in over a decade and is currently in development for the PlayStation 5. No release window has been mentioned.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Druckmann revealed that Naughty Dog has been working on Intergalactic since 2020 and confirmed that the main character will be played by Tati Gabrielle (Jo Braddock in the 2022 Uncharted film).

“Intergalactic stars our newest protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who finds himself stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communications with the outer universe were severed hundreds of years ago,” explained Druckmann.

“In fact, anyone who flew there in hopes of uncovering its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan must use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first human to leave orbit in over 600 years.”

“Beyond that, we’re keeping everything about the story a secret – at least for now. What we can tell you is that this game lives up to Naughty Dog’s tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey. Our narrative goals are only surpassed by our gameplay ambitions. This will be the most immersive gameplay in Naughty Dog history, taking what we’ve learned from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we’ve ever done before.

“Jordan is played by the talented Tati Gabrielle, who leads a stellar cast (pun intended!). Eagle-eyed gamers may spot some of the other cast members in the trailer. We’ll reveal more of our ensemble later.

“Our incredible journey into the cosmos also needs an equally incredible soundtrack. As big fans of their work, I’m excited to announce our collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who will be voicing Intergalactic! The boys are cooking and the trailer is just a small taste of their work for the game.

“We know you’re hungry for more – and trust us, we’re eager to share more with you. But now it’s time to put our heads down and move forward with Jordan’s adventure.”
