Bronny James delights NBA fans with 30 points despite G League Lakers’ loss to Suns | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

Bronny James made his G League away debut by starting a new, high-scoring career.

James led the South Bay Lakers with 30 points in a 106-100 loss to the Valley Suns on Thursday night in Tempe.

James led the team with 13 points in nine minutes in the first half, helping the South Bay Lakers to a 12-point lead at halftime.

James scored 17 points in the final two quarters, but the South Bay Lakers couldn’t prevent a late comeback from the Valley Suns.

The rookie finished the game with a score of 13:23. He also made 3 of 9 from behind the arc and added three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.

James’ outing left fans excited and excited for the No. 55 pick in the 2024 draft to take the next step in his development.

James appeared in seven NBA games during his rookie season and played limited minutes for the Lakers, most recently recording a block in Sunday’s win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

He appeared in three G League home games. Before Thursday, he was averaging 8.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

The Lakers previously expected James to only play home games for the South Bay Lakers several His trip to Arizona reportedly represents a departure from their original plans.

The South Bay Lakers return to Mullett Arena on Friday night for another game against the Suns. The Lakers play an away game against the Minnesota Timberwolves that same evening. It is not yet clear which team James will join.

Whether James’ father will play for the Lakers is also questionable. LeBron James was sidelined during Sunday’s win over the Blazers due to soreness in his left foot and missed Wednesday’s practice for personal reasons.
