Mafia: The Old Country Trailer Reveals First Look at ‘Linear, Narrative Sequel’, Summer 2025 Release Window Confirmed – The Game Awards 2024

Mafia: The Old Country has a new trailer (official this time!) that offers the first real look at what publisher 2K and developer Hangar 13 describe as a “linear, narrative sequel.”

Coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series While Mafia: The Old Country takes its place in the existing Mafia universe, it tells a brand new story with a new cast of characters about the origins of the Mafia itself. You play a new, original protagonist named Enzo, who has a childhood as a forced laborer in the Survived the sulfur mines of Sicily to join Don Torrisi’s crime family.

Structurally, Mafia: The Old Country is a “focused package,” a “cinema experience” set in an authentic representation of 20th century Sicily. Expect “down-to-earth” stealth and gunplay mechanics. Structurally, Mafia: The Old Country is more similar to Mafia 1 and Mafia 2 than to Mafia 3, which was more open-world focused.

With a summer 2025 release window, Mafia: The Old Country could closely rival the behemoth Grand Theft Auto 6, a prospect IGN asked about in a new interview with Hangar 13. Check out this to learn more about the development of the game Shape.
