A freeze warning is issued for portions of Southeast Texas tonight as temperatures drop into the upper 30s

The forecast for tonight:

HOUSTON – We’ll cool down quickly tonight! Temperatures will drop into the 40s and into the 30s.

Frost warning:

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Advisory for our northern and western counties from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

In Austin, Colorado, Polk and Waller counties, temperatures could drop as low as 90°F (32°C). In our northern counties, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker and Washington counties, temperatures could drop into the low 30s.

Make sure you wear your coats on Wednesday! Temperatures will most likely be below freezing between 3 and 6 a.m. This means we could be below freezing for 2-3 hours. While this shouldn’t damage pipes, it could damage sensitive plants. If you have indoor-outdoor dogs, I would definitely recommend bringing them inside tonight.

The National Weather Service is issuing a freeze warning for locations where the temperature falls below 90°F (32°C) for two hours or longer. This is only issued once per county per season and therefore will not be issued again for the remainder of the winter for our northern counties as long as they reach freezing tonight.

Forecast for Wednesday:

Wednesday brings sunny skies and cool temperatures! Highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Wednesday afternoon

10 day forecast:

Rain chances return Friday afternoon. Showers are slightly more likely on Saturday, but we don’t expect anything heavy. There will probably only be light showers, similar to what we saw last weekend (although slightly less severe as it gets warmer).
