Inactive Lions-Bears: David Montgomery, Amon-Ra St. Brown WILL PLAY

The Detroit Lions (10-1) have declared inactivity ahead of their Week 13 game against the Chicago Bears (4-7) on Thanksgiving Day.

With the teams playing a short week, any injury puts a player at risk of missing Thursday’s game, and unfortunately the Lions are paying the price as starters LT Taylor Decker and CB Carlton Davis were out on Wednesday. Additionally, WR Kalif Raymond’s foot injury from Week 12 is as serious as expected and he has been placed on injured reserve, although he is expected to return this season. The Lions promoted three players from the practice squad to mitigate injuries, signing WR Maurice Alexander and LB David Long, while also promoting OT Jamarco Jones for this game.

Emmanuel Moseley’s inactivity is a bit of a surprise, especially considering Davis is out. At this point, we don’t know if there is a specific reason why he was held back beyond game strategy.

On the positive side, RB David Montgomery (shoulder) and WR Amon-St. Brown (knee) has both been cleared to play and will start in this game. Both Montgomery and St. Brown insisted they would play in the game, but a questionable call raised some doubts. That being said, it’s a revenge game of sorts for Montgomery as the Lions host his former team, and it would probably take more than one injury to keep him out of this game.

For this week’s game, the Lions are eligible to expand their gameday roster from 47 to 48 players, as eight offensive linemen will be active for Sunday’s game. Therefore, the Lions have to declare themselves fair with 54 players in the matchday squad and 48 players eligible to play six players inactive for today’s matchup.
