After the Lakers reportedly gave Bronny James “special treatment” that prevented him from traveling with the G League team, the franchise has changed course. On Thursday, James will make his G League away debut when South Bay takes on the Valley Suns in Tempe, Arizona.

James’ first road trip with the G League team is an opportunity to build on his best performances as a professional. He recovered from a heel injury and scored 16 points in 22 minutes of play against the San Diego Clippers in the G League on Saturday, December 7.

After limited NBA action on Sunday, James is back on the G League stage, where he and his South Bay teammates will take on the Suns’ G League affiliate.
