Kyren Williams: The win at the 49ers shows that we are now the big brothers

After Thursday night’s 12-6 win over the 49ers, Rams running back Kyren Williams told reporters in the locker room that the pilot of the team plane mentioned that the Rams had a chance to win the season series over their division rivals at the end of their short flight .

Williams said he realized that didn’t happen in either of his first two NFL seasons and that you would have to go back to 2018 to find a season in which the Rams lost 2-0 to the Niners. The Rams have since won a Super Bowl, but the 49ers have generally been the top team in the division in recent years.

That almost certainly won’t be the case this season, and Williams said after the game that it felt like the win had sparked a change in the relationship between the teams.

“The ability to do that knowing how good the team is and knowing the history of the two organizations is huge and shows that.” We are the big brothers now,” Williams said.

While the 49ers are behind them, the Rams entered the race for the division title behind the Seahawks this week. They won the first meeting of the year with Seattle and the two teams could be fighting for the NFC West in their rematch in Week 18, so it may take another win before the Rams can officially be called kings of the hill.
