How Elden Ring Nightreign could connect to Dark Souls 3

How Elden Ring Nightreign could connect to Dark Souls 3

FromSoftware was sneaky when announcing its latest title. Elden Ring Nightreign. Although Hideo Miyazaki was clear that there would be no further expansion despite the success of shadow of the earth tree, and made that clear Elden Ring 2 was not in development. Many believed that Elden Ring would fall by the wayside for some time, but FromSoft has returned to the Game Awards with the announcement of a spin-off, promising co-op gameplay and continued development of Soulsborne Combat system.

As with everything FromSoftware announces, there are more questions than answers after the first announcement trailer. There seems to be a brand new story Night Reignas Marika, the demigods and anything related to the Earth Tree are not mentioned at all. Instead, new characters were shown asking the player for help to avert a crisis, and while this could be something convoluted and mythical, as is the case with FromSoftware titles, There is some evidence that this game is linked to titles from Dark souls seriesespecially with the third title in the series.

The reveal trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign references Dark Souls 3

From the nameless king to the fire keeper

FromSoftware revealed Night Reign with a trailer at The Game Awards, and during tThe game features a seamless co-op mode, which many fans have been demanding, but that didn’t steal the show. The return of the nameless king caused Dark Souls 3 Fans can have fun in the comments section. The nameless king gained notoriety because he was in hiding Dark Souls 3 and how hard it was to beat him. The trauma is used to draw attention to this new game, as the boss has returned exactly as he was in his previous appearance.

The unnamed king is the firstborn of Gwyn, Lord of Sunlight, and was banished for allying himself with dragons.

Although the nameless king has returned exactly as he was DS3 With the exact same sword-spear and his friend Storm Drake, he’s not the only character who seems to have returned. It looks like the Fire Keeper from DS3 or someone similar (maybe another Fire Keeper) is also in the trailerShe wears the mask covering her eyes under a cloak. Just like the Fire Warden, this character could act as a guide, recruiting the player (who may not be the Tarnished One) to avert tragedy, but DS3 is not the only game referenced.

Amazingly, the only thing D.S Game not directed by Miyazaki (Dark Souls 2) also gets a few references. In the trailer there is a spider figure that could be a reference to Freja, a boss in Dark Souls 2; The more obvious clue, however, is the massive door at the end. This door looks eerily similar to the one in front of the Throne of Want at the end Dark Souls 2and could combine this game with both Elden Ring and the other Souls games, for that matter DS2 has always stood out on its own.

Could Elden Ring and Dark Souls exist in the same world?

Painted worlds could be the answer

Fans of FromSoftware games probably know that anything is possible and everything has an answer in the lore if they look hard enough. Dark Souls 3 featured dozens of timelines and worlds colliding into one another due to the constant connection of the flame causing strange distortions in space and time and this could be the result of it. This was also hinted at by Junya Ishizaki in an interview with IGN Night Reign exists in a parallel world, and this world could be the very one from which Dark souls series, but later, or otherwise linked to this series.

Junya Ishizaki is a new director at FromSoftware and has taken full charge
Night Reign
after Miyazaki contributed to the initial concept phase.

Painted worlds from the Dark souls Series are like a kind of parallel world and have often been a way to introduce such worlds, like Ariandel in DS3 and Ariamis in DS1. Perhaps this parallel world that Ishizaki speaks of is like a painted world Elden Ring, or even the world that was painted in the end The Ring City DLC called Ash. That’s a long shot, but FromSoftware games tend to have strange lore, and it would explain why The Nameless King, Fire Keeper, and the door to the Throne of Want are all included in the reveal trailer.

Elden Ring; Nightreign was announced just last night and now it has been announced that registration for the network testing beta will begin very soon.

On the other hand, the game could also simply be linked Dark souls without good reason. Dark Souls 2 is very strangely placed in the series and the connections to its predecessor are just strangeso FromSoftware might conclude that these elements exist for nostalgia reasons, even though in Soulsborne games usually almost everything happens for a reason. In the end there are hundreds of earth trees Elden Ringmeaning that the Greater Will has reached many other worlds, although the Greater Will does not appear to be mentioned in the trailer.

What could this mean for the countries in between?

A parallel world could give the game a lot of what-if scenarios

There isn’t much evidence as to when this game will take place and if the events will take place Elden Ring are even relevant to this version of the Lands Between in Night Reign. Marika’s rise to power may not be a massive event in this parallel version of “Lands Between,” or it may occur either long before or long after Elden RingThe story takes place. On the other hand, even if the areas shown are similar to the Lands Between, this may not be the case, and Night Reign could take us to a completely different place, perhaps more recognizable Dark souls fans.

Is Elden Ring connected to Berserker? The evidence doesn’t lie

Elden Ring and Berserk have many undeniable connections that show how important the legacy of the best-selling manga is.

It’s clear that this isn’t the same world that players have already explored to death Elden Ring and there is a possibility that beyond the mist, the lands of Drangleic and Lothric lie just around the corner. This is highly unlikely, but with the giant door of the Nameless King and the Throne of Desire openly displayed in the reveal trailer, it’s clear that FromSoftware wants to make it clear to players that there is a connection between them Elden Ring And Dark souls. Since this is a spin-off, this link may not have been intended when Miyazaki originally built the world.

Elden Ring Nightreign It seems like it’s doing double duty by acting as a pseudo-sequel Elden Ring while you have enough Dark souls in it as an appetizer for those who hope for it Dark Souls 4 could still happen. How much of it Dark souls eventually ends up inside Night Reign remains to be seen, but it won’t just be hidden Easter eggs. Dark souls will be part of it Elden Ring and that could mean so many things for both the intellectual property and the mythical world surrounding the games.
