Elon Musk says SpaceX’s headquarters is in Starbase, Texas

(Reuters) – Elon Musk said on social media platform X on Thursday that SpaceX headquarters will now officially be located in the town of Starbase, Texas.

In July, Musk said he was closing the headquarters of two of his companies – the social media platform

The billionaire previously said SpaceX’s headquarters would move to an existing facility in Boca Chica, Texas, while X would move to Austin. However, it was unclear to what extent jobs or facilities would be relocated from California to Texas.

He also moved SpaceX’s founding from Delaware to Texas earlier this year. This followed Musk’s shareholder vote to change Tesla’s founding state to Texas, where the company is headquartered, after a Delaware judge invalidated his $56 billion pay package.

In 2021, Musk also moved Tesla’s headquarters from California to Texas, but said that California would remain its technical center.

Musk moved his residence from California to Texas in 2021, where there is no state income tax for individuals.
