LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 4 seed Purdue Boilermakers fell to No. 1 seed Louisville 17-25, 18-25, 18-25 in the NCAA regional semifinals, capping off one of the program’s best seasons in its history. Purdue finished the season with a record of 27-7 (16-4 Big Ten), its second 27-win season in Shondell’s 22-year tenure.

As a team, ten program records and one Big Ten record have either been broken or equaled since Big Ten play began, including Colvin’s career block assist record, Shondell became the winningest head coach of all time, and set a Big Ten attendance record Ten in the regular season on record. Additionally, the team posted a .280 batting average on the season, the third-highest mark in program history.

senior Raven Colvin reached her 1,000th career kill with her first kill of the game and finished the night as the team leader with 13 kills. The Grand Rapids Rise pro team athlete finished her career with a .550 hitting percentage (13-2-20) with two blocks. Colvin will finish her career as one of the best blockers Purdue has ever seen. In addition to holding the Purdue record for block assists (559), she also ranks second in Purdue annals in total blocks (642) and blocks per game (1.39). Additionally, Colvin’s 1.56 blocks per set and 155 block assists on the single-season side are each the second-most in a single season, while her .356 season is tied for the 10th-best mark.

Rounding out Purdue’s middling blocking performance tonight was Lourdes Myers’ team-leading .625% performance with five kills on eight tackles and a team-leading four blocks.

The Boilermakers outscored blocks per set 7-5 but were unable to contain their efficient offense as Louisville averaged a season-high .467 attack percentage. Meanwhile, Purdue hit .273 in the match, giving Louisville’s opponent a one-two %.
