Donnie Wahlberg and the rest of the cast and crew of Blue Bloods did their best to keep the show on the air after 14 seasons. The final episode of the drama series aired on Friday evening.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, the “Very Scary People” host talked about the emotional scene at the final dinner and how eerie the silence was on set after the final “cut” was called.

“I think one thing that comes to mind from time to time is that when we finished shooting the scene, the entire crew came to the Reagan house. And we all stood around. There were a few hundred people standing there. And that was it.” silence for a minute.

“I think there was a long pause after they said ‘cut.'” And I think we all stood or sat there hoping that either A, someone would say, “Hey, this is all a joke. “Or two: Everyone hesitated because we knew that as soon as someone started talking, we would all get emotional,” Wahlberg said.

“I think one of the things we haven’t really talked about is that we worked with the crew we had in New York City for so long. Personally, I – and I’m sure some of the other castmates – felt bad. I was sad.” We tried to keep the show going, but we couldn’t keep the show going.

Wahlberg told Fox News Digital that he was grateful for the crew he had worked with for over a decade and couldn’t help but feel like the cast was “letting them down a little bit.”

“I was sad. We tried to keep the show going. We tried to keep the show going, but we couldn’t. We couldn’t do it. You know, we did everything we could, everything in our power to keep the show going.

“That was hard. That was hard to process, you know. And I know the crew wouldn’t think that way. But in a way, we just always believed that we would keep the show going. When the finale ended, it was like reality hit all of us, a bit like, ‘Gosh, if we could just keep going for a few more years, you know?'”

“We became close to this crew, and they have families, mortgages and a lot of responsibilities. It was a really cool feeling to go to work every day and know that hundreds of New Yorkers who work on this show had these careers.” “And just knowing that that was coming to an end was certainly for them scary,” Wahlberg said.

Wahlberg reflected on his time on “Blue Bloods.”

“We have worked hard to represent the people of New York and the NYPD, and we have worked hard to keep the show going and compelling for 14 years. seem weird, like, “Oh, all these actors are crying that their show is over.” But we became a family, and we became a family with the crew. And just saying goodbye to them was emotional,” said Wahlberg.
