Chelsea are “perhaps the best team in the Premier League at the moment,” says Brentford coach Thomas Frank.

Enzo Maresca, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in June, led the Blues to six straight wins in all competitions before hosting Frank’s Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Four league wins in a row lifted Chelsea to second place in the table, four points behind leaders Liverpool.

“They are perhaps even in better form than Liverpool, even though they are top of the league,” said Frank.

“They play incredible football and are well coached. Maresca has done a top job with his coaching team so far and they look extremely dangerous.”

Chelsea, the Premier League’s top scorer, followed a 4-3 win at Tottenham with a 3-1 win over Astana in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, and Maresca’s side have scored 15 goals in their last four games in all competitions .

Brentford are in ninth place after beating Newcastle 4-2 last weekend. But despite the Bees having performed strongly at home so far this season, they have only picked up one point from a possible 21 away.

However, they have an encouraging record at Stamford Bridge, having won all three Premier League games there.

“(Chelsea) have so many threats up front and quality players all over the pitch. I expect an incredibly difficult game,” said Frank.

“They are big favorites, but of course we believe we can compete against anyone and we can win.”
