The warming trend in Metro Detroit is accompanied by rain

Despite a very cold start to Saturday, temperatures will warm up comfortably and return to average.

Saturday’s sky will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. After starting in the teens with wind chills in the single digits in the morning, temperatures will climb into the high 30s in the afternoon. Winds will be from the east at speeds of 6 to 12 miles per hour with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s as fans head to Little Caesars Arena for the Maple Leafs vs. Red Wings game at 7 p.m

Temperatures will drop to around 30 degrees on Saturday evening and slowly rise a few degrees overnight. It will be mostly cloudy with showers coming from the southwest from 1am. There is a chance of isolated wintry mixing as shower activity begins. Patchy freezing rain is possible in the Irish Hills and north of I-69. Otherwise, a rain event is expected across southeastern Michigan.

The greatest chance of rain will be on Sunday morning. These chances will fade in the afternoon and showers are expected to move in from the region in the evening. Pushy Lions should be equipped with rain jackets or ponchos. The maximum values ​​are around 40 degrees. Lows will be in the mid 30s.

Plan for more rain and warmer temperatures on Monday. The maximum temperatures are around 50 degrees.

Cooler air will move into southeastern Michigan beginning Tuesday. Temperatures will peak in the lower to mid 40s under cloudy to partly cloudy skies. The lowest temperatures are around 30 degrees.

Wet weather could return in some communities on Wednesday. There may be isolated rain and snow showers. Seasonal highs are in the upper 30s, with lows in the mid 20s.

Highs on Thursday and Friday will be in the low to mid 30s. Skies will be mostly cloudy both days, but a few snow showers are possible on Friday.
