According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, the Atlanta Hawks are expected to listen to trade offers for veteran players, possibly including Bogdan Bogdanović.

“Considering where the Hawks once again stand in the play-in race, Atlanta will listen when teams start calling for their veterans, sources said,” Bontemps wrote.

According to Bontemps, the players who are expected to stay in Atlanta beyond February include Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels and Onyeka Okongwu, as well as Zaccharie Risacher, the No. 1 pick in 2024. According to Bontemps, the Hawks want to build on these four players in the future .

Atlanta could now consider a move for Bogdanović. According to Bontemps, the experienced guard is a player that other teams are “curious” about, also because his contract is still manageable.

Bogdanović has been playing since last season on a four-year, $68 million extension.

According to Spotrac, he will make $17.3 million this season and just over $16 million next, with a player option of $16 million through 2027.

That could make him an attractive trade target for teams that are salary capped this season.

According to Spotrac, four teams are above the second frontcourt and cannot combine player salaries into deals. Five more are above the first apron and cannot absorb more incoming salary than outgoing salary in a trade. And at least 10 others are close enough to the luxury tax threshold to be wary of taking on too much extra pay before the deadline.

Bogdanović could potentially be an option if one of these teams wants to bolster their defensive strength before the February 6 deadline, although injury concerns earlier in the season have raised doubts about his future availability.

He missed 13 games earlier this season after recovering from a shoulder injury and has been sidelined sporadically since his return, but is averaging 11.9 points in 25 minutes per night when available.
