Casting call suggests ‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ season 4 is happening

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 hasn’t been announced yet, but a call for background actors for Jeremy Renner’s crime drama suggests the series is returning to Paramount+.

The third season of Mayor of Kingstown was initially in doubt after Renner was involved in a near-fatal snowplow accident on January 1, 2023, in which the actor-producer was crushed by the 14,000-pound PistenBully snowcat. As a result, Renner suffered 30 broken bones, a collapsed lung and a punctured liver.

Miraculously, Renner – after undergoing surgery for his injuries and extensive rehab – returned to film almost a year after the day of the accident Mayor of Kingstown Season 3.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger in August, leaving fans wondering if there would ever be a fourth season.

However, a report from a Pennsylvania news publication Trib Live On Monday, it was all but confirmed that Season 4 is happening thanks to a casting announcement for extras.

Trib Live noted that the casting announcement comes about a month after the production offices Mayor of Kingstown— which is filmed in Pittsburgh — opened in the Steel City last month.

According to a Facebook post from Pittsburgh company Movie Casting PGH, the casting process for Mayor of Kingstown “begins and will continue throughout May when we are finished!”

“This means you can hear from us any time for the next 6 MONTHS! Filming will begin in mid-January,” the post reads in part.

Additionally, PGH’s “Movie Casting” post encourages interested individuals to submit a new casting form with updated photos to the company’s website and “stay tuned for status information, dual photos and/or featured roles.” !”

Set in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan, Mayor of Kingstown follows the harrowing plight of Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner), a former prison inmate turned power broker “Mayor” who acts as an intermediary between law enforcement and criminals outside the prison walls and the guards and convicts within.

An announcement for Mayor of Kingstown Extras casting for Season 4 on the Movie Casting PGH website reads: “Looking for children, teens and adults of all ethnicities! Extras feature TOWN LOCALS, SWAT/FBI/COP GUYS, INMATES, GUESTS, GANG MEMBERS (Caucasian, Hispanic, African American), BABIES, and other fictional characters! We’re looking for a wide range of diversity to create a city similar to Detroit, Michigan.”

The website said the production of Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 begins on January 15th and runs until the end of May 2025.
