About 11 businesses share the building, including Mind’s Eye Hypnosis and Hear Again Center, a hearing aid provider. There is also an AllState Insurance office there.

The cell phone video was taken by Cliff Silva, an employee of the Simsbury 1820 House, a local hotel directly across the street from the crime scene.

Silva said he arrived at work around 11 p.m. Saturday night and saw huge flames and dozens of fire trucks. They responded to every side of the building.

“Pretty impressive how many flames came out of there,” he said. “(There are) old buildings up and down this street, so you know it’s going to be a long time before it goes out.”

According to the fire department, no one was in the building at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

There is no information about how the fire started.
