No. 2 UConn faces Oregon State at Baha Mar

NASSAU, Bahamas – The second-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (4-0) will face Oregon State (1-4) in game one of the Baha Mar Women’s Championship on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center.

The game will be streamed on FloCollege and available on Learfield’s UConn Sports Network radio (FOX Sports 97-9).

FloCollege is a subscription-based streaming platform.

Freshmen Sarah Strong had 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals while leading UConn past FDU 85-41 last Wednesday. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers scored 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

With the win, head coach Geno Auriemma became the NCAA’s all-time winningest coach with 1,217 career wins.

Last Wednesday marked the return of the graduate and preseason All-BIG EAST selections Azzi Fuddwho missed most of the 2023–24 season due to injury.

UConn is 2-0 all-time against Oregon State. The two previous meetings also took place at neutral venues. With Monday’s game, exactly 29 years have passed since the two teams first met on November 25, 1995.

Oregon State fell to Illinois 85-66 last Friday. Four Beavers are averaging double-digit points this season, led by Catarina Ferreira (10.8). Head coach Scott Rueck is in his 15th season at Oregon State.

This will be UConn’s second time competing in the Bahamas after participating in the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
