The Texans gained just 86 yards in the first half, but their two takeaways against Tua Tagovailoa led to a 13-6 halftime lead.

Houston’s defense held Miami to 112 yards and forced and intercepted a Tagovailoa fumble. Texans defensive lineman Will Anderson had a strip sack of Tagovailoa and defensive tackle Tim Settle recovered for the Texans at the Miami 28. Four plays later, the Texans had the first touchdown of the game on CJ Stroud’s 6-yard touchdown Watch out Nico Collins.

With 25 seconds left, Tagovailoa tried to hit Tyreek Hill over the middle. He never saw safety Calen Bullock, who returned the pick 68 yards to the Miami 5 before De’Vachane saved the pick-six. The Texans had to settle for a 23-yard field goal from Ka’imi Fairbairn after a sack by Stroud and an incompletion.

Fairbairn also scored a 44-yard field goal.

Stroud is 10 of 15 for 79 yards, completing passes to six different players and losing a fumble. Joe Mixon had just 5 yards on four carries and was injured on a hip drop tackle that wasn’t called but came back.

Tagovailoa is 14 of 20 for 86 yards and a pick, while Malik Washington caught three passes for 33 yards.

Dolphins receiver Jaylen Wadde is questionable to return because of a right knee injury, and the Texans ruled out defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi because of an ankle injury.
