Inter Miami CF will face Club América in preseason play on January 18 in Las Vegas

Club unveils second announced pre-season game ahead of highly anticipated 2025 season; Inter Miami CF will face current two-time LIGA MX champions Club América for the first time in history

Ahead of the club’s highly anticipated 2025 season Inter Miami CF today announced the team’s second announced pre-season game as a continuation of their 2024 Supporters’ Shield winning campaign. The club will compete against the current two-time LIGA MX champions Club America on Saturday, January 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the first time Inter Miami will visit Las Vegas and take on the LIGA MX powerhouse. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. PST.

Following its record-breaking 2024 regular season, in which the club recorded the most wins, goals and points in club history and won its first-ever Supporters’ Shield title, it did so in historic fashion by setting the MLS single-season points record (74), Inter Miami has begun the process of confirming its preparation plan to be fully prepared for the 2025 season. Notably, the team’s visit to Las Vegas will be the first in the club’s history.

Founded in Mexico City in 1916, Club América is one of the most important teams in Mexico and the North American football landscape. América, popularly known as Las Águilasare the current two-time title holders in LIGA MX and ready to play the final of the LIGA MX Apertura 2024. Las Águilas are the most victorious team in the history of the Mexican league with a total of 15 titles and, with seven titles, also the team with the most titles in Concacaf’s most prestigious club competition, the Champions Cup. A host of soccer legends have worn America’s jerseys throughout its rich history, including Mexican icons Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Pavel Pardo, who also played in the MLS, as well as current English Premier League striker Raúl Jiménez and renowned goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. Their roster includes players such as Mexican national team striker Henry Martín and goalkeeper Luis Malagón, as well as midfielders Jonathan dos Santos and Álvaro Fidalgo and former LAFC winger Brian Rodríguez.

Santiago Baños, sports president of Club América, stressed the importance of hosting major games in the United States to bring the large fan base closer to the institution. “We look forward to a competitive and exciting game that will benefit both clubs as we continue to grow and inspire our fans around the world.”

This game is the second announced 2025 preseason game for Inter Miami FC, following the club’s previous announcement that the team will play on Friday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET at the 75,000-capacity Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Spectators will compete against rival Orlando City SC, Florida.
