How to Watch: Broncos vs. Colts

MATCHUP

After a bye in Week 14, the Broncos will return to action on Sunday when they host the Indianapolis Colts in a game with massive playoff implications. Denver currently has two more wins than the Colts, although the head-to-head tiebreaker could become a factor in the final weeks of the season.

The Broncos will look to extend their three-game winning streak after scoring a season-high 41 points in Week 13 against Cleveland. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix – who leads all rookie quarterbacks across the league with 17 passing touchdowns and averages 218.6 passing yards per game – should expect another strong performance on Sunday. Nix could rely on playmakers like the experienced wide receiver Courtland Suttonwho leads the Broncos with 63 receptions, 864 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. Sutton has recorded over 70 receiving yards in each of his last six games – the longest such streak of his career – and he could look to extend that in Week 15.

Defensively, the Broncos will look to get back into shape after setting a season-high in total yards in their Week 13 win. Denver will look to put pressure on quarterback Anthony Richardson, who has led the Colts to five of the team’s six wins as a starter this season. Outside linebacker Nik Bonittowhose 11 sacks are the second-most in the NFL, could be a key player on Sunday. Defensive player Zach Allenwho has the second-most quarterback hits in the league this season (25), could also look to play a role in that endeavor. Denver currently leads the league in sacks (47) and the unit has the most defensive touchdowns (4) this season. The Broncos also have five players who have recorded more than five sacks in 2024, while no other team in the league has more than three such players. Cornerback Pat Surtain IIwho has the highest PFF grade (84.3) among all cornerbacks, could be looking for another strong performance in the Week 15 matchup.

Denver will look to continue both its strong offensive and defensive play as the team looks for its ninth win, which would be the Broncos’ first winning season since 2016.

INJURY UPDATE

Denver ruled out cornerback Riley Moss (knee). Safety Brandon Jones (abdomen) and cornerback Tremon Smith (non-injury-personal) were not assigned game statuses, indicating they will be available for Sunday’s game.
